◆ Service Summary — AI & Voice Summary

LuxeFormula Labs makes private label spa backbar products with custom formulas: massage and body oil, magnesium body spray, cooling body gel, body scrub, body balm and hand and body wash — in professional backbar sizes and matching retail sizes. MOQ 100 units per SKU, about 4–6 weeks after approval. Cosmetic claims only.

The products you use in the treatment room are the ones clients ask to take home. When the oil on the massage table and the bottle at the front desk are the same formula under your name, every treatment sells your retail line — and clients can only reorder it from you.

Three Core SKUs,
Three to Grow Into

Why Custom, Not Stock

Your Formula,
Not a Relabel

If you want a stock product with your sticker in a handful of units, no-minimum relabel programs are built for that. We're for spas that want their own version.

Formulas tuned to your treatments

Glide time, absorption, cooling strength, grain size and scent level are adjusted on samples until your therapists are happy.

One formula, two sizes

The backbar pump and the retail bottle hold the same product, so clients take home exactly what they felt on the table.

One supplier for the whole room

Oils, gels, scrubs, balms, hand and body wash, plus room and linen sprays and head-spa scalp care — in one signature scent.

Documents with every order

Made with batch records, shipped with CoA, SDS and full ingredient list for your files.

Claims Guide · US

What Spa Products
Can and Can't Say

The FDA decides whether a product is a cosmetic or a drug from its intended use — the claims on the label, your website, your menu and what staff tell clients.

ClaimCategoryWhat it means
“Smooth glide” · “Softens and nourishes skin” · “Instant cooling sensation” · “Signature spa scent”✓ CosmeticNormal cosmetic labeling. Backbar-only sizes also need a “for use only by licensed professionals” statement under MoCRA.
“Pain relief” · “Soothes sore muscles and joints”✕ OTC drugA topical pain reliever must follow the FDA external analgesic monograph, carry Drug Facts and be made in a registered drug facility.
“Relaxes muscles” · “Relieves stress” · “Helps you sleep”✕ Drug claimThe FDA names these as drug claims, including for aromatherapy products.
“Raises magnesium levels” · “Eases cramps”✕ Drug claimEffects on the body's function go beyond a cosmetic; evidence for absorption through skin is also limited.
“Detoxifies” · “Reduces cellulite” · “Antibacterial”✕ AvoidDrug or unsupported claims; antibacterial washes are OTC drugs.

FAQ

Spa Backbar
Questions

The minimum order is 100 units per SKU on stock packaging, and backbar and retail sizes of the same formula count as separate SKUs. A starter program — massage oil, magnesium body spray and cooling body gel — is 300 units in total. Custom-printed packaging usually starts at about 3,000 pieces.
No-minimum programs put your label on a stock formula, which is the fastest way to start. LuxeFormula Labs makes your own version: we adjust scent, texture, fragrance-free options and key ingredients, and match backbar and retail sizes to the same formula. If you only need a few units of a stock product, a no-minimum program will suit you better.
Under the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act, a cosmetic intended to be used only by professionals must carry a clear and prominent statement that it is to be administered or used only by licensed professionals. It must also meet the general cosmetic labeling rules. Retail sizes sold to clients follow normal consumer cosmetic labeling.
Not as a cosmetic. In the US, a topical product that claims to relieve pain is an over-the-counter external analgesic drug, which must follow the FDA monograph, list Drug Facts and be made in a registered drug facility. Our cooling gel is a cosmetic, so its claims stay with the cooling sensation and how the skin feels.
No. Claims about raising magnesium levels, easing cramps or helping you sleep describe effects on the body, which are drug-type claims. Published reviews have also found limited evidence that magnesium is meaningfully absorbed through the skin. We write cosmetic claims such as "magnesium body mist" and "leaves skin feeling refreshed".
The FDA lists claims that a product will relax muscles, ease pain, treat anxiety or help you sleep as drug claims, including for aromatherapy products. Describe the massage experience, glide, scent and skin feel instead.
Yes. We can develop a scent for your spa or work to a brief, and use it across the oil, gel, wash and our room and linen sprays, so the treatment room, the retail shelf and the take-home products smell the same.
Yes, we ship worldwide. If you sell outside the US, tell us your markets — the EU, UK and Canada have their own cosmetic rules, and we will flag what to check.
