How to Create an
Original Perfume
Describe the scent in plain words — “warm amber vanilla”, “fresh citrus woody” — plus the mood, audience, format, price and markets. Review 2–3 original directions, refine, then check IFRA, stability and labels. Skip “inspired by” dupes: another brand's name is a trademark and takedown risk, not an asset.

Why we don't make "inspired by" dupes
Dupes sell on someone else's name. That name belongs to another company: using it in a product title, listing or ad invites trademark complaints, marketplace takedowns and legal claims — and every sale builds their brand, not yours. An original fragrance can't be taken down by another brand's complaint and becomes something your customers can only buy from you.
From brief to launch
- Directions: 2–3 original samples built from your brief.
- Refinement: revision rounds until you approve — typically 8–12 weeks in total.
- Compliance: IFRA conformity at your use level (the 51st Amendment is in force; the 52nd is expected to be notified in January 2027), stability and packaging compatibility.
- Label: identity, net quantity, ingredients — in the US "fragrance" may be declared as such — business name and adverse-event contact; EU allergen labeling where you sell there.
- Listing & trademark: list the product under MoCRA as the responsible person; file your trademark with your attorney, using product descriptions, label proofs and photos from your manufacturer.
