Most matte nail polishes are just glossy polish with a separate matte top coat layered on. LuxeFormula Matte Luxe builds the matte finish directly into the lacquer formula through precision silica engineering.
The most common matte polish complaint: "The matte effect disappeared after 2 days." This happens because most brands apply matte finish as a separate top coat layer — not engineered into the formula. When the thin top coat wears at nail edges and tips (always the first wear point), the underlying glossy polish is exposed, creating an uneven half-matte appearance. Matte Luxe's built-in silica architecture means every layer is matte throughout.
16 specially formulated shades — every color developed with our in-house AI color matching system to achieve maximum pigment saturation in the matte formula. Divided into 8 Classic essentials and 8 Trending statements.

Matte polish behaves differently from glossy — follow these steps for the smoothest, longest-lasting velvet finish. The most critical rule: no glossy top coat.
Clean nails with nail prep solution or 70% isopropyl alcohol to remove all oil — oil prevents matte polish adhesion. File to desired shape. Buff very lightly to remove major ridges. Matte polish's light-diffusing particles help camouflage minor surface texture, but major ridges will still show. Do not over-buff — thin nail plates reduce wear time.
Apply one thin ridge-filling base coat and let dry fully (2–3 minutes). While Matte Luxe Polish does not require a matte top coat, a base coat significantly extends wear from 5 days to 7+ days. The base creates a mechanical bonding layer between nail and matte formula. For maximum longevity, don't skip this step.
Apply the first coat thinly and evenly in smooth strokes from base to tip. Three strokes: center, left, right. Keep the coat thin — matte finish develops as the formula dries, and thick first coats dry unevenly and can produce patchy matte appearance. Wait 2–3 minutes until surface begins to set before second coat.
Apply a second thin coat for full opacity and ideal velvet depth. After applying the second coat to each nail, run the brush under the free edge tip (this is called "capping") — this seals the edge of the polish layer and is the single most effective technique for preventing premature chipping. For lighter shades (pastels, nude), a third coat may be needed for full opacity.
Allow nails to dry completely (10–15 minutes). Do NOT apply a glossy top coat — it will eliminate the matte finish entirely. The anti-smudge polymer in the formula activates as the polish fully cures, making the surface fingerprint-resistant. Avoid water immersion for 2 hours after application. To refresh the matte appearance mid-week, apply a single thin refresh coat of Matte Luxe Polish over existing polish.
